Smoking ban on under-18s seems to have worked

The number of teenagers aged 18 and under who are smokers has fallen considerably since the legal age for buying cigarettes rose from 16 to 18, research has revealed. The study, which  was conducted by scientists from the University College London and published in the journal Addiction, found that the number of smokers in this particular age bracket fell by 7% – from around 24% to 17%. Two teenagers have died and a third had to be resuscitated by paramedics after carbon monoxide (is believed to have) diffused into their holiday apartment.
