A Turkish man arrested in New Zealand for beating his wait claims police understand that the couple were taking part in a lively traditional Turkish dance.
The dance, which originated in the 1930s, involves simulated fighting – such as arm throwing, slapping and various wrestling moves.

Car-sized wasps nest found in attic

The biggest ever wasps nest to be discovered in Britain was found in a pub attic in Southampton. The nest measured a jaw-dropping 6ft by 5ft and housed around 500,000 wasps.
The wasps nest was discovered in the attic before being destroyed by a pest controller. He said: “It was scary […] but it is what I am trained for – I just pulled out my iPod and listened to Bat Out Of Hell to get me through the job.”
